Thomas Hunt was born in Perth, Perthshire, in 1855. His father, Colin Hunt, was a merchant. Thomas studied medicine at the University of Glasgow from 1874-1880 and graduated with an MB CM in 1878 and a MD in 1880 for his dissertation Is not Prevention better than Cure. After completing his terms as Medical Officer at Carlisle Dispensary and Carlisle Fever Hospital, Thomas worked as a Clinical Assistant at the Central London Hospital for Diseases of the Throat and Ear from 1880-1882 . These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
